Artist Bio
Nikita Boldyrev was born in 1987 in Moscow. He graduated the State Musical College of pop and jazz art (2007, Honours Degree) and the State Classical Academy (2012, guitar class of Nikolay Golovnya).
Nikita Boldyrev was included to the World Records Book as “the person who sets the world record for the speed of mastering the guitar repertoire” (the formulation of the Russian Bureau for the registration of records, 2001). During his studies at the college he was a grant-holder of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation. Nikita also was awarded a state prize for the support of talented youth by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation (2006).
Nikita Boldyrev performed with solo concert programs in the cities of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Serbia. He participated in guitar and jazz festivals in Russia, Poland, Austria, Serbia, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania including the “World of guitar” festivals (Kaluga, 2009, 2013, 2021), “Guitar Virtuosos” (Moscow, 2012), “Strings” (Serbia, 2015), “Golden Vultures” (Moscow, 2017), “The Pink Panther” (Ufa, 2018), “Harmonia Cordis International Guitar Festival” (Romania, 2018), “Evolution of guitar” (Moscow, 2018, 2020), “Mr. Guitar” (2019, 2020, 2021), “Guitarmagfest” (2021), etc.
During last years he performed with concerts and master classes in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Bryansk, Kirov, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Stavropol, Severodvinsk, Murmansk, Monchegorsk, Vladimir, Saransk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Orel, Ufa, Ulyanovsk, Vologda, Minsk, Orenburg, Krasnoyarsk, Revda, Izhevsk, Kurgan, Tver, Ryazan, Volgograd, Penza, Astrakhan, Petrozavodsk, Donetsk, Magadan, Novosibirsk and other cities of Russia and Belarus.
He has repeatedly taken part in television and radio programs.
Nikita regularly serves on the jury of regional and international guitar competitions. He was the chairman of the jury of the regional children’s competition (Vladimir, 2010), the open city festival-competition “Inspiration” (Severodvinsk, 2017, 2020). He took part in the jury of the competitions “Guitar Renaissance” (Belarus, Gomel, 2009 and 2019), “Tabula Rasa” (jazz nomination, 2019), “Classical Guitar in Asha” (2019), “Gnesin-Rock” (2020), “Nikita Koshkin Guitar Competition” (Smolensk, 2022), “Guitar in Gnesinka” (2023), “Guitar Universe” (2025).
Nikita Boldyrev is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions, winning in both classical and jazz categories, a rare feat among contemporary guitarists. Nikita Boldyrev’s contemporary work is based on the intersection of classical and jazz music. Stylistically, his repertoire can be characterized as “jazz on classical guitar” and “fingerstyle”.
Nikita Boldyrev has also collaborated at various times with composers Gennady Gladkov, Vyacheslav Osminin, Marina Landa, Yuri Markin, Nikita Koshkin, Alexander Vinitsky, Andrey Zelensky, Yulia Finkelstein.
From 2008 to 2021, he taught at the Guitar College (Moscow). Nikita Boldyrev developed an original teaching method for fingerstyle technique, arrangement and improvisation on the guitar. This method is implemented in the “Nikita Boldyrev Guitar School” project (boldyrevguitarschool.ru).
