Aldo Assada
Aldo Assada is a bassist in the Death Metal band Psychotic Eyes but his musical roots go well beyond Metal. Rock ́n ́Roll has always been part of its formation base along with other musical styles especially Jazz and its strands and later Brazilian music in general.
Due to the vast influence of styles, he decided to enter the Santa Marcelina College and studied at the former ULM, where he was a student of the master Itamar Collaço. He studied harmony, improvisation and perception with the master Emerson Barbosa, who is also his mentor and music producer.
During the 18-year absence from Psychotic Eyes, Aldo experienced the life of a professional musician: he acted as a bass guitar teacher, accompanied bands from São Paulo nighttime with emphasis on Insônica and also performed in international lands in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.
In parallel, he became a professional sommelier, where he was highlighted as “Sommelier of the Year” by the important magazine Prazeres da Mesa and was a finalist for “best sommelier Vinhos do Alentejo” in Évora / Portugal. During his work as a sommelier he also traveled and studied in several wine producing regions such as France, Portugal, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay. Study for the Diploma level 4 of the famous WSET course in London.
He was a contributor to several magazines and television programs such as Programa do Jô, Programa Legendários, Paladar section, Prazeres da Mesa, São Paulo Shimbum newspaper, section of Folha de Sp and various other specialized media.
In 2019 Aldo receives the invitation to return to the original lineup of Psychotic Eyes, a band that was highlighted in 2014 in Roadie Crew magazine for the release of the album “I only smile behind the mask” and recently released the first acoustic death metal album in history called “Red eyes”.
